The massive outrage and agony of the people of India against the Citizenship amendment bill has got the attention of many world leaders and industrial tycoons. The modi government which has been careful not to spleen the people over the years of its governance had suddenly made a decision which not only had bring political imbalance to the party but also seen massive backdrop in the trust of people for the leadership.
But the question still remains what did they gain from all this turmoil and massive crowd strikes, How does this affect the party’s future politically ?
let’s take a look back at the historic decisions that were taken BJP over the course of its governance. The first thing that comes to mind when we say historic decisions in the country is “The Note Ban”. On November 8th of 2016 the prime minister of India shri Narendra modi confounded the nation with a epoch-making decision of note ban. This news came by surprise and with no prior information to ‘the people at least’ . The action was debated by many in the country, the nation had gone through a period of transition to put it in a right way. This decision had major impact on the Nations economy and stock markets and industries etc., But nonetheless BJP has not only survived but also regained a massive cheer in the 2019 election.
The Revoke of article 370, this decision had grim consequences on the nations security to speak the truth. There was nigh possibility of war with the neighbouring nation pakistan. The decision to revoke article 370 is still being debated by many nations in the world whether India is forcing kashmir to be a part of it or The actions took by the country to vindicate the actions of the government in kashmir are right or violation of human rights has still been unanswered in some way. Politically many didn’t debate this action so there was no aftermath to this decision internally in the political area.
And then the BJP government dropped a bombshell decision to introduce Citizenship Amendment Bill on the 17th lok sabha by Home Minister Amit shah on 9th December and the bill was passed on 10th December without even a chance to debate the bill. There is a massive and relentless opposition to the bill by the citizens of india, some states are even ready to challenge the bill.So all these decisions took people by surprise and in someway even affected people. So what did BJP really gain from all of this we all know that the party is associated with RSS an organisation that strictly follows Hindutva and has also committed several crimes in the name of religion. The prime minister Shri Narendra Modi had failed to address the sensitivity of the issue and therefore failed to do his duty. We all can see how the BJP is trying to split the nation with religious bias, we all know that the government is not secular and doesn’t follow constitution. The recent attacks on the students of jamia university and JNU students, leaders calling them the “tukde tukde gang” the home minister using this kind of language to justify the police action on students is heinous calling those who were attacked for simply just expressing their concerns on the decision of the government Anti-nationalists is simply outrageous. But that’s the sad reality and that’s the way this government is ruling the nation by silencing those who raise their voices against the government by beating them locking them up in jails calling them terrorists and Anti-nationalists. This is not what Democracy means this is not what secularism means and certainly not what a good governance means.
